Băile Boghiş Resort

Sits on an ancient Dacian settlement site dating to the 2nd–4th centuries AD, though its thermal water wasn’t formally drilled until 1971, following preliminary research by IPGG Bucharest in 1961–63. The resort’s bicarbonate-sodium-sulfur water rises from 400m at 40–42°C; its first pools opened in 1971, with two more added in 1975 and an indoor pool and bathtubs completed in 1976. Alongside the thermal water, used for rheumatic, neurological, and gastric conditions, the resort offers therapeutic peat mud from the nearby Stoboru deposit.
