About
Nurme is a family-run Estonian natural cosmetics company, founded in 2009 in Kose Parish after its founders turned a home soap-making hobby into a business during that year’s financial downturn. Now based in Tapa and employing around 20 people, it has grown into one of Estonia’s most prominent natural cosmetics brands, with a range spanning hair, body, face, and wellness products sold at home and exported abroad. Nurme markets its products as handmade, cruelty-free, and free of parabens and synthetic fragrance, and has collected numerous Estonian and international beauty awards over the years — including an Anne & Stiil Ilulemmik title for its peat-based scalp shampoo.
About the Ingredients
Nurme Natural Cosmetics is an Estonia brand built around peat extract, tea tree oil, and menthol.
Peat from Estonia is mainly sphagnum peat (raised bog) and transitional bog peat. Peat — the organic sediment itself — is used in treatments like peat balneotherapy, peat body wraps, and peat mud pack, most often explored for psoriasis, back pain (chronic low back pain), joint inflammation (osteoarthritis, rheumatic conditions), and eczema (atopic dermatitis).
