Manufacturer technical dossier for Nordic Beauty® Peat, a cosmetic-grade peat ingredient produced from peat excavated in Karvia, North Satakunta, Finland — part of the UNESCO Global Geopark network. Nature of the evidence

This is unpublished, manufacturer-sponsored technical literature, not peer-reviewed research. The in-vivo efficacy studies used a small sample (n=5, forearm application) with instrumented measurement — SEM for wrinkle topography, VivaScope 1500 for microcirculation, and pin-probe/colorimetry instruments for hydration and skin tone. No control-group statistics, blinding, or peer review are reported. Findings are treated as preliminary, supplier-sourced data points (evidence grade D) — useful as corroborating, product-specific measurements, not as standalone proof of efficacy.

Relation to existing research

The reported humic acid (25–30%) and fulvic acid (8–12%) content sits at the high end of existing Finnish peat composition data (Korhonen 2008: Sphagnum 24.8%, Carex 26.8% HA; 9.6% FA across 23 mires), corroborating peat composition claims from an independent commercial source. The microcirculation finding is the primary evidence behind the microcirculation stimulation mechanism entry.
