Key Findings

  • 0.5% FA poultice significantly increased fibroblast proliferation vs control: week 1 (45 vs 14.87), week 2 (75 vs 28.75), week 3 (114.75 vs 75.12), all p<0.05
  • FA poultice significantly enhanced angiogenesis: week 1 (25 vs 7.12), week 2 (45 vs 14), week 3 (17.62 vs 5), all p<0.05
  • Inflammatory cell infiltration (neutrophils, eosinophils, mast cells) significantly decreased in FA treatment group
  • FA acts as anti-inflammatory by decreasing proinflammatory mediator release
  • FA modulates redox state and immunomodulatory function promoting tissue repair

In vivo rat study evaluating 0.5% fulvic acid poultice on full-thickness skin ulcers. 24 male Sprague Dawley rats divided into control, sham, and FA treatment groups. FA poultice significantly accelerated wound healing through three mechanisms: enhanced fibroblast proliferation (3× control by week 1), increased angiogenesis (3.5× control by week 1), and reduced inflammatory cell infiltration. The anti-inflammatory effect was attributed to decreased proinflammatory mediator release, while the pro-regenerative effect was linked to FA’s immunomodulatory and redox-modulating properties.
